Backerkit, Artwork, Expo & SWAG!

Hello Sinners, hope you're all having a wonderful day. Here in Denmark, the sky is flooding the streets with constant rain and the wind is swallowing our umbrellas. But at the office, the sun is shining.

Backerkit

We're getting closer and closer. The big day is soon upon us as we're preparing to send out invitations at the start of February. Stay tuned. 

SWAG

We're making a couple of changes for the better. We're adding 9 more cards to each box set; extra starter cards for a total of 10 cards per player, new reference cards as player aids and more rules cards for a simpler setup. All is free to all backers. 

We're also combining the Kickstarter Box with the NSFW Box, and will make them both available to all backers who pledge for one of the other during the campaign at no extra cost.

Production & Video

We'll soon be receiving the first production copy and with that, make a video for you all to see. We'll be going through the box, the cards and give you a sense of the gameplay. 

Artwork

Darryl has completed the first box of artwork. We've also made some minor changes to the layout for a better gameplay and a better view of the artwork (see examples below).

Expo

We're planing to attend UK Games Expo 29th-31st of May. If you're there, please come visit. We'd love to have a chat and give you some free expo promos.

We'll also be demoing the next trilogy for SINS, and three upcoming titles.

A great start to the new year!

Hello to all our sinners. We hope you all had an amazing start to the new year. We've had such an wonderful  two weeks and are happy to return to Kickstarter with the latest news. 

Production & Shipping

At the office, we are setting up the pledge manager at Backerkit and are preparing for a test run and then later this month a smoke test (5% trial invite), before opening it to all and accepting late-pledges preferably at the start of February. We are in the process of making final quotes on production and shipping at the moment, which will be a prerequisit for opening Backerkit. 

Translations

We've gone through all options on translation. We are really eager to make a solution available to all that has requested translations, but one thing that seems almost impossible is a printed card translation. But here are some of the options that we might make available, so please comment if this is of interest.

•  Stickers. Some have suggested stickers, which would require sleeves. This is fairly simple and could be achived in small volumes. We know its not the most delicate solution, but it's an option.
• Replacement Cards. This is an expensive option on both sides. We'd have to offer the replacement cards at production cost on top of your current pledge to cover production complexity and increased logistics.
• Print n Play. We can also offer replacement cards in the form of full PnP or a PnP label that you can print on paper/sticker-paper and sleeve, as a digital download. This is the most plausible solution. If the community is willing to make the translations, we're willing to make these PnP files available for free.

Artwork

Darryl is fast at work (see below) making finals and sketching all box sets. I'll share the latest finals in the next update.

What an amazing and wild campaign. We started thinking we might reach 100 backers. For god's sake, we didn't even have a play-through video. Then we thought, wow, we might actually reach 200 backers. But no, this campaign ended with 763 backers bringing this game to life. 

To all our sinners on this journey and from all of us at Cortadoo Games, thank you all! We are eternally grateful for your feedback, comments, love and support!

What now?

To be honest, we'll take a brake until Monday. But after that, we'll be setting up the pledge manager, making final negotiations on fulfilment and preparing for the last batch of artwork from Darryl.

We are also trying to find a couple of options on translations. A lot have requested different language packs and we might be able to workshop some ideas. Though the campaign was a big success, translation is a challenge for medium sized project like ours. But, we are working on some ideas that we'll present before we open the pledge manager. 

What's coming in 2020?

First fulfilment! But, after that, we have another trilogy planed for SINS for May and December, 6 additional box sets. We are also in the process of finalising artwork and sculpts for our big-game title, Cthulhu Island, coming summer 2020. But, we'll reveal more exciting information later.

We started with the uncensored art book at the beginning, but throughout the campaign, many have requested a replacement pack with uncensored cards for the game itself. So, for our card game connoisseurs of all things uncensored, we give you the NSFW Box Set. 

We are still commited to the All-in pledge, and therefore, we'll be adding it for free to all "SINS All-in" backers.

That's it for now. We'll be getting back to the holiday festivities and another session of Gloomhaven (I've just reached level 9 after 2 years with Cragheart. I love that rock-throwing fool).

Exclusive Box Set Unlocked!

327 backers, 100.000 DKK ($15.000 USD) and 2000% funded! Once again, amazing! What an incredible Christmas present.

We started this project expecting for 50 backers. Not that we didn't think our game was worth it, but we know that kickstarter isn't an easy platform for a new name. But you all showed us so much support. Thanks to all for being part of this journey!

Today we unlock the exclusive kickstarter box set and we are adding it for free to all All-in backers and as an add-on for 59 DKK / $9 USD. Checkout the updated Pledge Levels and Add-On sections.
